Army will be playing its third straight Northeast Conference opponent to start the season after winning at Wagner, 65-62, to start the year before falling at home on Monday to St. Francis, N.Y., 59-47.

Picked to finish fourth in the eight-team Patriot League, the Black Knights return all three of their All-Patriot League selections from a season ago, including the conference's leading scorer and first-team selection Anna Simmers who is averaging 5.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg through two games. The senior guard brought home league accolades at the end of 2011-12 along with junior guard/forward Jen Hazlett (second team) and sophomore forward Olivia Schretzman (all-rookie). Hazelt leads the team in scoring with 15.0 ppg to go along with 7.0 rpg. Schretzman is averaging 10.5 rpg and 8.0 ppg, while Aimee Oertner averages 11.5 ppg and a team-high 11.0 rpg.

The Knights and the Black Knights will be meeting for the 11th time with Army leading the all-time series, 7-3. The teams first met Dec. 10, 1979 and last met a year ago at Army on Nov. 19, which resulted in a 51-37 victory for the Black Knights. The Knights last victory in the series was a 52-43 win at Stratis Arena two seasons ago on Nov. 20. The two teams have faced each other five times over the past four seasons with Army winning four contests and six of the last seven in the series.
