Softball to Face Monmouth Friday Afternoon

The Fairleigh Dickinson University softball game at Monmouth University scheduled for Saturday, April 16 has been rescheduled for Friday, April 15.  The Northeast Conference double-header will begin at 3:00 pm.

The Monmouth Hawks are 6-4 in the NEC this season with a 15-14 overall record.  They swept Robert Morris to open conference play and have since split with Sacred Heart and St. Francis PA, fallen to Quinnipiac, defeated Long Island.  The Hawks are led by senior Emily Delong who has batted .403 over 23 games this season.

The Knights are led by Akadema/NEC Player of the Week, Caitlin Bradac (Garden Grove, CA/Garden Grove).  Bradac proved to be the offensive and defensive spark the Knights needed to capture their first league wins of the season.  The squad swept Saint Francis and split with Sacred Heart as Bradac compiled a .615 batting average, going 8-for-13 while chipping in two runs and three RBIs.  In addition to boosting the Knights' batting line-up, the Player of the Week hurled two complete-game wins, allowing only four earned runs in 14 innings at the mound.

They are currently 3-7 in the conference and 18-15 on the season and will continue their season on Sunday, April 17 at Wagner.
