The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's softball team will begin Northeast Conference play as they host Robert Morris University on Sunday, March 27 for a double-header. The first-pitch in Hackensack, NJ is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
The Knights are off to a 12-7 start this season. They are led by freshman Berkleigh Massey (Oceanside, CA/Rancho Buena Vista) who is currently batting .364. Massey has started 18 games and recorded 20 hits including four doubles, three home runs and 14 runs batted in.
Maire Shaughnessy (Culpeper, Va./Highland) has led the Knights from the pitcher's mound with a 1.29 earned runs average. In 49 innings pitched Shaughnessy has given up 33 hits and struck out 27 batters.
The Colonials are 8-18 this season and are currently amidst a six-game losing streak. They most recently fell to Monmouth University, 0-1 and 2-4 on Saturday, March 26 in West Long Branch, NJ.
Robert Morris is led by Jaci Timko who has a .339 batting average with two home runs and seven RBIs. The Colonials' pitching staff has a total ERA of 3.21.
The Knights will travel to West Point, NY to take on Army on Wednesday, March 30.
