The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team (11-11, 4-7 NEC) will be looking to rebound from a tough loss at The Mount they take Wagner College on Monday, February 7 at The Spiro Sports Center. Tipoff is slated for 7 pm. The game will be broadcast live on Wagner Radio and WFDU.
In their most recent outing the Knights had an exceptional game statistically, shooting 68.0 percent from the field in the first half and out-rebounding The Mount. Unfortunately, the high-scoring contest did not favor the Knights, handing them their 11th loss of the season, 83-76.
Junior Jasmyra Saunders (Trenton, NJ/Trenton Catholic) had a season-high 25 points to lead the Knights' scoring effort, while junior Mariyah Laury (Orange, NJ/Orange) added 22 points.
The Seahawks of Wagner are fresh off a win over Monmouth, 67-50. Junior center Kelly Clark tossed in 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting to lead four players in double-digits as Wagner went on to post to a convincing 67-50 victory over third-place Monmouth in Northeast Conference (NEC) action at the Spiro Sports Center.
The win on Saturday snapped their three-game losing streak, and improved their record to 10-12 on the season, 3-8 in the NEC. The 10 wins surpass last season's win total of nine and are the most wins by the Seahawks since the 2003-04 team went 11-17.
This will be the 60th meeting of the Seahawks and the Knights since 1978. Wagner holds a one-game advantage in the series, having won 30 games and dropping 29 but FDU took the win,66-54, in their most recent matchup on February 11, 2010.
