The Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team (4-21, 2-12 NEC) will be looking to end a season-high nine-game losing streak and a 12-game conference losing streak as they host defending NEC Tournament champion Robert Morris on Thursday, Feb. 17, at 7:00 p.m. at Stratis Arena in Hackensack. The Colonials defeated the Knights back on Jan. 13 in Moon Township, PA, 83-65.
FDU is coming off a 62-51 home loss this past Saturday to Monmouth at Stratis Arena. The Hawks took control in the latter part of the first half and early part of the second half as they never allowed the Knights to ever really get back into the game. Senior John Galvin (Weston, CT/Weston) led the Knights with 13 points and seven rebounds. Senior Mike Scott (Philadelphia, PA/Texas Christian) chipped in 10 points, while senior Kamil Svrdlik (Prerov, Czech Republic/Gymnazium Zlin) pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
Robert Morris (12-13, 8-6 NEC) comes into the contest fresh off a home-and-home series sweep versus Keystone State and conference rival Saint Francis PA during NEC Rivalry Week. In their game last Saturday, the Colonials defeated the Red Flash, 78-73. Currently, Robert Morris is sitting in fifth place in the NEC, one game behind Quinnipiac and Wagner. The Colonials are 3-11 on the road this season.
After playing Robert Morris, the Knights will play their final home game of the 2010-11 season on Saturday, Feb. 19, when they host Saint Francis PA at 7:00 p.m. in Stratis Arena. The Knights' four seniors will be honored before the game.
The Series Versus Robert Morris: The Colonials hold a two game edge in the series, 32-30. RMU has won six straight in the series. The last FDU win took place on Feb. 1, 2007 as the Knights held on for an 84-79 victory at RMU.
