Jack McVey Named First Team All-NEC in M. Soccer

Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer standout Jack McVey (Douglas, Isle of Man/St. Ninian’s ) was named First Team All-Northeast Conference Thursday evening at the annual pre-tournament banquet in Fairfield, CT.

The junior midfielder was the Knights' top offensive weapon on the season as he led the team in goals (seven), assists (four), points (18), shots (41), shots on goal (24) and game-winning goals.

McVey ranked second in the NEC in goals and third in the conference in points.  He also ranked second in points per game (1.12), third in goals per game (0.44) and tied for third in game-winning goals.  McVey also finished in the top ten in shots, shots per game (2.56), assists and assists per game (0.25)

McVey and his teammates, who earned the No. 4 seed, will be in action on Friday morning in the first NEC Tournament semifinal against top-seeded Sacred Heart.  Kick-off is slated for 11 a.m. at Lessing Field on the campus of Fairfield University.  
 
"I think it is a well-deserved honor for Jack as he has been a critical component of our success thus far," Head Coach Seth Roland said.
