FDU then scored four of the next six points to cut the lead to 18-10, thus starting its comeback. A kill by junior

After the Blue Devils took the Knights' punch, the home team was able to regroup and managed to go up 22-18 before FDU responded one more time with another 5-0 run.
Once again, Wheeler started the run with a kill and followed with another kill before the Knights took advantage of three-straight service errors by CCSU to take a 23-22 lead.
However, the Blue Devils regrouped one last time and were able to take the final three points to take the first set, 25-23.
In set two, CCSU raced out to an early 7-1 lead and was never threatened as it cruised to a 25-12 win.
