The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team (10-6, 3-2 NEC) will be looking to rebound from a tough overtime loss against SFPA as they travel to Moon Twp., PA to take on Robert Morris Monday, January 17. Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm at The Charles L. Sewall Center.
The Knights are coming off of a heartbreaking loss against NEC opponent St. Francis PA on Saturday, January 17. After trailing by 17 points with six minutes remaining, the Knights fought to tie the game at the end of regulation. FDU ultimately fell, 73-70 after one overtime period.
FDU was led by junior Mariyah Laury (Orange, NJ/Orange) who had 28 points and four assists. Senior Alyssa Mayrose (Freehold, NJ/Freehold) added 16 for the Knights and also grabbed five rebounds.
Robert Morris comes into the game with an 8-7 overall record including a perfect 5-0 start in the Northeast Conference. The Colonials are fresh off a win over NEC foe, Monmouth. RMU defeated the Hawks, 69-56, on Saturday.
This will be the 48th meeting of the Knights and the Colonials since 1985. Robert Morris holds the advantage in the series having won 27 of 46 previous contests. The last FDU win was on February 14, 2004 when the Knights defeated RMU, 60-53.
The Knights break until this weekend when they begin another road trip. FDU will battle Central CT State and Bryant in NEC rematches from earlier this season. FDU defeated both teams in December.
