Women's Basketball to Host Central Connecticut State University

The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team (6-4, 1-0 NEC) will be looking to continue its win streak as it hosts NEC opponent Central Connecticut State University on Wednesday, December 22.  Tip-off at Stratis Arena is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

The Knights are coming off a 69-63 win over St. Peter's College.  Junior Mariyah Laury (Orange, NJ/Orange) led the Knights with 19 points against the Peahens while red-shirt freshman Danielle Pankey (Middletown, N.J./Middletown South) added 18 points and 4 rebounds.  Sophomore Alannah Driscoll-Sbar (Northampton, MA/Northampton) added 10 points for the Knights who came from behind in the second half to extend their win streak to three games.

CCSU comes into the game with a 6-2 record on the season.  They are currently 0-1 in the conference after losing to Monmouth, 56-43, on December 9.  The Blue Devils are led by Kerrianne Dugan who recently scored 26 points in a win over New Hampshire and was named the Choice Hotels/NEC Athlete of the Week this week.

This will be the 28th meeting of the Knights and Blue Devils since 1988.  Before last season, FDU and CCSU had each taken the W in 13 of 26 games.  The Knights fell to the Blue Devils on two occasions last season, 76-73 and 79-61.

After playing Central Connecticut, the Knights will take a break for the holiday before traveling to Washington, D.C. to take on Howard University on December 30.
