Men's Soccer Stays Hot, Wins Fourth-Straight, 2-1, Over Bryant

The Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team won its fourth-straight match Friday afternoon as they defeated Bryant, 2-1, in an NEC road contest in Smithfield, RI.  Sophomore Dominic Reinold (Wesseling, Germany/Gesamtschule Rodenkirchen) scored a pair of goals to pace the Knights.  With the victory, the Knights improve to 9-6-1 (5-3-1 NEC) on the season, while the Bulldogs fall to 4-9-2 overall.

A little over 14 minutes into the game, senior Kyle Saviano (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) found Reinold with a throw-in, who then delivered a shot past the keeper into the right corner for a Knights' 1-0 lead.

Not even one minute into the second half, Bryant tied the game at one when Ryan Stone found the back of the net.

However, in the 53rd minute, Reinold scored on a free-kick to put the Knights ahead, 2-1.  The goals scored by Reinold were his eighth and ninth of the season.  He has now scored four goals in the last three matches, including the game-winners in each one.

The Knights defense and goalkeeping were able to hold up the rest of the match to give the team its fourth straight win with the last three coming on the road.

Freshman Jacob Lissek (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Rock Canyon) picked up another victory in net for the Knights, despite his three-game shutout streak being snapped.  He made four saves in net for the Knights.

Fairleigh Dickinson returns to action on Saturday, November 6, when they host Sacred Heart for their home and regular season finale.  It will be Senior Night for seven players.  Kick-off is slated for 7:00 p.m. at University Field in Teaneck.
