The Fairleigh Dickinson women's volleyball team dropped a home non-conference match Wednesday night at Stratis Arena in Hackensack to Manhattan, 3-0. The Jaspers won all three games by scores of 25-16, 25-20, 25-16. With the victory, Manhattan improves to 12-13 on the season, while the Knights fall to 9-17 overall. Fairleigh Dickinson has now lost four-straight matches.
Seniors Sarah Berkland (Newton, MA/Newton North) (Newton, MA/Newton North) and Erin Roudebush (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) and sophomore Violeta Slabakova (Shelby Township, Mich./Utica) (Shelby Township, MI/Utica) each had six kills to lead the Knights. Berkland had an attack percentage of .364.
Junior Sarah Willey (Abingdon, MD/Bel Air) (Abingdon, MD/Bel Air) dished out 17 assists and recorded two service aces to share the team lead with sophomore Meaghan Wheeler (Chatsworth, CA/Chaminade College Prep) (Chatsworth, CA/Chaminade College Prep).
Defensively, junior Kelsey Semler (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) registered 16 digs. Slabakova had three block-assists.
The Knights return to action on Monday, November 1, as they play the second of four-straight home games by taking on Robert Morris in a Northeast Conference match. First-serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Stratis Arena in Hackensack.
