Women's Volleyball Defeats Bryant, 3-2

The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team defeated Bryant, 3-2, in Smithfield, RI on Sunday afternoon.

The win is the Knights' third in the last four matches. FDU is now 7-23 on the season, including a 4-10 record in the Northeast Conference. Bryant falls to 10-21 overall, with a 5-8 mark in league play.

Ali Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) and Meaghan Wheeler (Chatsworth, CA/Chaminade College Prep) led the Knights, each recording 12 kills, while Sarah Berkland (Newton, MA/Newton North) added 10 kills. Sarah Willey (Abingdon, MD/Bel Air) notched 42 assists. Kelsey Semler (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) led the team with 23 digs and Philbrick added 20. Berkland and Meghan Alger (Cheltenham, MD/Bishop McNamara) each recorded six blocks and Violeta Slabakova (Shelby Township, Mich./Utica) had five.

The Knights are back in action against Saint Francis PA on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7:00 p.m.
