After being down two sets, the Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team battled back to win the final three and take the match against visiting Quinnipiac.
The Bobcats (3-24, 2-12 Northeast Conference) took the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-17. In a close third set, the Knights (6-22, 3-9 NEC) took control and grabbed a 25-21 win.
The two teams traded leads in the fourth set, but FDU prevailed with a 25-20 victory. After six ties in the fifth set, the Knights pulled ahead for a 15-13 win.
Meaghan Wheeler (Chatsworth, CA/Chaminade College Prep) led the Knights with 19 kills, while Sarah Berkland (Newton, MA/Newton North) added 14 and Violeta Slabakova (Shelby Township, Mich./Utica) recorded 12. Sarah Willey (Abingdon, MD/Bel Air) had 50 assists, while Ali Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) notched four service aces.
Kelsey Semler (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) posted 18 digs, while Wheeler, Willey and Amanda Alayon (West Haverstraw, NY/North Rockland) each had 12. Slabakova and Berkland each added three blocks.
The Knights are back in action at Central Connecticut State on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 3:00 p.m.
