The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team defeated Quinnipiac in Hamden, CT on Sunday afternoon, taking the match in three sets. FDU took the first two sets 25-22 and 25-23, before cruising to a victory in the third set, 25-12.
The Knights improve to 5-22 on the season, including a 2-9 mark in Northeast Conference action, while the Bobcats fall to 3-22, with a 2-10 record in league play.
Sarah Berkland (Newton, MA/Newton North) led the Knights with 13 kills. Meaghan Wheeler (Chatsworth, CA/Chaminade College Prep) added nine kills and Violeta Slabakova (Shelby Township, Mich./Utica) registered six. Sarah Willey (Abingdon, MD/Bel Air) dished out 27 assists and Kelsey Semler (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) posted a team-high six service aces adn 16 digs. Wheeler added 11 digs and Ali Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) had nine. Berkland also posted five blocks in the match.
The Knights will host Quinnipiac on Friday, Nov. 6 at 7:00 p.m.
