The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team fell to Central Connecticut State in three sets on Sunday afternoon in Hackensack, NJ.
The Blue Devils (13-12, 7-2 Northeast Conference) took the first set, 25-16, and the second set, 25-9. FDU (4-20, 1-7 NEC) fought back in the third set but Central Conn. won the match with a score of 25-18.
Senior Ali Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) posted eight kills to lead the Knights for the second consecutive match. Freshmen Meaghan Wheeler (Chatsworth, CA/Chaminade College Prep) and Violeta Slabakova (Shelby Township, Mich./Utica) each recorded four kills. Sophomore Sarah Willey (Abingdon, MD/Bel Air) dished out 19 assists and three block assists, while sophomore Kelsey Semler (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) posted 12 digs, while Philbrick added 10. Sophomore Sarah Berkland (Newton, MA/Newton North) added four blocks.
Fairleigh Dickinson will take the court again on Friday, October 30 when it hosts Long Island at 7:00 p.m.
