Men's Soccer Falls to Dartmouth, 3-1

The Fairleigh Dickinson University men's soccer team fell to host No. 25 Dartmouth, 3-1, at the Nike/Hypertherm Classic at Burnham Field on Friday evening. Dartmouth improves to 2-1 on the season, while the Knights fall to 2-2.

Juho Illi (Nastola, Finland/) made two saves between the posts for the Knights, while Sean Milligan made two saves for Dartmouth. The Big Green out-shot the Knights, 11-4.

Bryan Giudicelli scored first, putting Dartmouth on the board in the sixth minute of the contest. Andrew Olsen and Michael Donelan fed Guidicelli, who headed in the shot for a 1-0 lead.

Samson Malijani (Lusaka, Zambia, /La Sapienza) scored his first goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 23rd minute to knot the score. Lucky Mkosana shot from 18-yards out in the 27th minute to give Dartmouth back the lead. Guidecilli added an insurance goal in the 77th minute to make the final 3-1.

"We played well against a very good team," said Head Coach Seth Roland. "With a little bit of luck the results could have been a little more favorable. They are really an impressive team and yet I was very pleased with how we competed."

The Knights will complete competition at the Classic against Yale on Sunday.
