The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team concluded the regular season with back-to-back victories, following a 3-0 decision against St. Francis College, Sunday, Nov. 16 in Brooklyn, NY. The Knights enter the Northeast Conference Tournament as the No. 5 seed, after going 4-4 in league action and 17-13 overall.
FDU collected decisions of 25-14, 25-12, and 25-22, en route to sending the Terriers to a 0-32 0-8 NEC, clip this season. The Knights hit .319 through the sweep, while St. Francis went for .174 output ? highlighted by a .455 showing in the third set.
Senior middle hitter Lauren Boothby (/Voorhees) amassed a match-high 15 kills, while hitting .519, and had four block assists Sophomore outside hitter Erin Roudebush (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) eclipsed that mark with a .571 showing (four kills), with freshman middle blocker Meghan Alger (Cheltenham, MD/Bishop McNamara) going for an afternoon-best .714 effort (six kills).
Senior outside hitter Megan Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) tallied seven kills. Classmate Karolina Kowalski (/North Arlington), a setter, and freshman counterpart Sarah Willey (Abingdon, MD/Bel Air) notched 15 assists a piece. Senior libero Jennifer Brugger (/Centreville)'s six digs marked a team-high, while freshman libero Kelsey Semler (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic)'s four service aces paced Fairleigh Dickinson.
The fifth-seeded Knights will face the No. 4 seed Saint Francis University (PA), Saturday, Nov. 22 in the NEC Tournament quarterfinals. The match time has yet to be announced. Regular season champion, an unbeaten, Robert Morris University will host the six-team event in Moon Township, PA.
