The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team slipped to 1-1 in Northeast Conference play, following a 3-0 setback on the campus of Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY, Saturday, Oct. 25.
FDU (13-10 overall) dropped sets by margins of 25-16, 25-10, and 25-16. Meanwhile, the Blackbirds improved to 12-9 overall and 3-0 in the NEC.
Senior middle hitter Lauren Boothby (/Voorhees) notched a team-high eight kills, with senior setter Karolina Kowalski (/North Arlington) contributing a team-best 14 assists. Senior outside hitter Megan Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) tallied six kills and sophomore middle blocker Sarah Berkland (Newton, MA/Newton North), four.
Freshman libero Kelsey Semler (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) collected seven digs, while freshman setter Sarah Willey (Abingdon, MD/Bel Air) added eight digs and five assists.
The Knights travel to Sacred Heart University at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 26.
