The Fairleigh Dickinson University men's soccer team defeated host Quinnipiac, 2-0, in Hamden, CT on Friday evening. With the win, the Knights improved their record to 7-3-1 overall this season and 2-0 in conference play. The Bobcats drop to 6-4-2 overall and 1-2 in NEC play.

The lone goal of the first half came on a penalty kick from the foot of Fairleigh Dickinson's Samson Malijani (Lusaka, Zambia, /La Sapienza). The Knights' Chris Faraone (Jamesburg, NJ/Union Catholic Regional) made it 2-0 in the 82nd minute. Malijani put a corner kick just above the six-yard box where Faraone jumped to head it past Hall for his first goal of the season.

Quinnipiac's Hall stopped three shots in the game, while Fairleigh Dickinson's Majdi Zaineh (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) recorded five saves for the shutout. Graciano Brito led both teams with four shots.

"I thought we defended very well against an extremely dangerous Quinnipiac attack," said Head Coach Seth Roland. "I felt that we created a number of good opportunities to score as well. We were very solid and were able to come away with an important away win."
