The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team traveled to Providence College and Mullaney Gymnasium, Wednesday, Oct. 1 and won, 3-0, versus the Friars (8-9). The Knights used a .481 attack percentage in the second set to advance to 11-7 overall.
Providence dipped to 2-2 at home this season after Head Coach Stacey Recanati's squad earned wins of 25-23, 25-11, and 25-20.
Junior outside hitter Ali Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) amassed nine kills and 10 digs. Senior setter Karolina Kowalski (/North Arlington) rattled off 25 assists and eight kills.
Freshman middle blocker Meghan Alger (Cheltenham, MD/Bishop McNamara) notched five digs and four kills, with sophomore middle blocker Sarah Berkland (Newton, MA/Newton North) added four kills.
Senior middle blocker Lauren Boothby (/Voorhees) went for 17 digs, eight kills, two block solos, and two service aces. Classmate Jennifer Brugger (/Centreville), an outside hitter, went for six digs and four kills.
FDU stays overnight in Rhode Island, as the Knights face home-standing Bryant University at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 2.
