The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team put away Lafayette College, 3-2, Saturday, Sept. 8 in Easton, PA. Junior outside hitter Megan Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) (Seabrook, MD) hammered a match-high 21 kills (.409 attack percentage), as the Knights improved to 5-3 on the season.
FDU fell, 30-27, in the first game, before posting back-to-back wins, 30-23 and 30-18. The Leopards (3-5) took game four, 30-24, with Head Coach Stacey Recanati's squad sealing the match in game five, 15-11.
Junior middle blocker Lauren Boothby (/Voorhees) (Glen Gardner, NJ) recorded a double-double of 16 kills and 14 digs, in addition to her eight blocks. Classmate Karolina Kowalski (/North Arlington) (North Arlington, NJ) had a double-double from the setter slot, notching 23 assists, 12 kills, seven digs and four block assists.
Senior middle blocker Rebecca Tenney (/Tabb) (Yorktown, VA) finished with 11 kills and sophomore outside hitter Ali Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) (Latham, MD) chipped-in eight kills. Senior setter Ruth Levy (/Cary) (Cary, NC) posted 34 assists, nine digs and three service aces. Senior libero Lauren Lombardo (/Laurel) (Laurel, PA) tallied 11 digs.
The Knights head to Philadelphia, PA, Wednesday, Sept. 12 to take on La Salle University at 7:00 p.m.
