The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team rallied to defeat University of Maryland ? Eastern Shore, 3-2, Friday, Sept. 7 in Easton, PA. The Knights improved to 4-2 overall with their win in the first of three games at the Lafayette College Tournament, led by a double-double ? 29 assists and 16 digs ? courtesy of senior setter Ruth Levy (/Cary) (Cary, NC).
Senior middle blocker Rebecca Tenney (/Tabb) (Yorktown, VA) hit .467, en route to 16 digs, as FDU took the final three games to take the match. The Knights fell, 30-23, in the initial two games to the Hawks (3-2), before recording victories of 30-22, 30-28 and 15-13.
Junior setter Karolina Kowalski (/North Arlington) (North Arlington, NJ) compiled 17 assists and 14 digs.
Junior middle blocker Lauren Boothby (/Voorhees) (Glen Gardner, NJ) tallied 14 kills (.364 attack percentage), in addition to nine digs. Junior outside hitter Megan Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) (Seabrook, MD) registered 12 kills.
