The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team was defeated by Colgate University, 3-0, Friday, Sept. 14 in Hamilton, NY. In the first of three matches at the Colgate Invitational, setters, senior Ruth Levy (/Cary) (Cary, NC) and junior Karolina Kowalski (/North Arlington) (North Arlington, NJ) registered double-doubles, as the Knights fell to 5-5 overall.
The Raiders (3-7) took game one, 30-17, before topping FDU in the final two games, 30-28.
Levy finished with 26 assists and 13 digs, while Kowalski tallied 10 assists and 13 digs.
Senior middle blocker Rebecca Tenney (/Tabb) (Yorktown, VA) compiled a team-high .316 hitting percentage, including nine kills. Junior outside hitter Megan Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) (Seabrook, MD) added a team-best 10 kills. Junior outside hitter Jennifer Brugger (/Centreville) (Clifton, VA) contributed 11 digs.
Fairleigh Dickinson finishes the tourney with two contests, Saturday, Sept. 15. The Knights take on University of Central Arkansas at 10:00 a.m. then clash with Northeast Conference foe Wagner College at 12:30 p.m.
