The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team was edged, 3-2, by La Salle University, Wednesday, Sept. 12 in Philadelphia, PA. Junior middle blocker Lauren Boothby (/Voorhees) (Glen Gardner, NJ) registered 14 kills, 14 digs and six block assists, as the Knights slipped to 5-4 overall.
FDU won game one, 30-28, but dropped two-straight games, 30-25. The Knights took game four, 30-18, before the Explorers (6-8) closed the match, 15-11.
Junior outside hitter Megan Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) (Seabrook, MD) notched a team-high 18 kills.
Junior setter Karolina Kowalski (/North Arlington) (North Arlington, NJ) tallied 28 assists, 11 digs and six block assists. Senior setter Ruth Levy (/Cary) (Cary, NC) had 30 assists, while senior outside hitter Jennifer Brugger (/Centreville) (Clifton, VA) contributed 15 digs.
Sophomore outside hitter Ali Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) (Latham, MD) posted 15 kills and senior middle blocker Rebecca Tenney (/Tabb) (Yorktown, VA) finished with five block assists. Senior libero Lauren Lombardo (/Laurel) (Laurel, PA) recorded 10 digs.
The Knights travel to Hamilton, NY at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 14 to face Colgate University.
