The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team defeated St. Francis College (NY), 3-1, Wednesday, Aug. 29 at the Genovesi Center in Brooklyn, NY. In their first action of 2007, the Knights sealed the victory by taking the final three games 30-8, 30-28, and 30-12, led by a match-high 17 kills by senior middle blocker Rebecca Tenney (/Tabb) (Yorktown, VA).
The Terriers (0-4) opened the match notching a 32-30 win.
Junior outside hitter Megan Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) (Seabrook, MD) chipped-in 14 kills, as Head Coach Stacey Recanati's squad registered a .371 attack percentage. Junior middle blocker Lauren Boothby (/Voorhees) (Glen Gardner, NJ) contributed nine kills ? good for a .400 clip.
Senior libero Lauren Lombardo (/Laurel) (Laurel, PA) recorded a match-best 15 digs. Junior setter Karolina Kowalski (/North Arlington) (North Arlington, NJ) had a match-high 21 assists, with senior counterpart Ruth Levy (/Cary) (Cary, NC) adding 14.
The Knights travel to the University of Hartford Tournament, Friday, Aug. 31. In the first of three games over a two-day span, FDU takes on the tourney's host at 5:00 p.m.
