Softball Falls to Colgate, Army

The Fairleigh Dickinson University softball team fell in a pair of games at the Rebel Spring Games in Orlando, FL, falling to Colgate, 4-1, and Army, 13-0.

Trina Fields took the loss against Colgate, pitching a complete game. Colgate put a three-run second inning on the boards. Caitlyn Reuter (Richwood, NJ/Clearview Regional) reached on an error and was driven home by Lindsay Glidden to make it a 3-1 game, but Colgate added one in the fifth to make the final 4-1.

Army was able to hold FDU to a one-hitter, with the lone hit coming from Reuter. Army was able to smack nine hits, including four home runs. Ashley Buchanan (West Windsor, NY/West Windsor) started the game, with Courtney Haroules (Littleton, MA/Cushing Academy) and Shauna Hawthorne (Largo, FL/Seminole) coming in for relief. Buchanan then came in to close out the game.

The Knights are back in action tomorrow when they play Mississippi Valley State 9 a.m. and Columbia at 11 a.m.
