The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team evened its record to .500, on the strength of a 3-1 victory over Lehigh University, Wednesday, Oct. 17 at the Rothman Center in Hackensack, NJ. Junior outside hitter Megan Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) (Seabrook, MD/Elizabeth Seton) led the squad to 10-10 overall, slamming a team-high 15 kills ? good for a .433 attack percentage.
Senior setter Ruth Levy (/Cary) (Cary, NC/Cary) registered a double-double of 24 assists and 13 digs, while junior setter Karolina Kowalski (/North Arlington) (North Arlington, NJ/North Arlington) added 18 assists, eight kills and six digs.
FDU took game one, 30-21, but fell in the second game, 30-27. The Knights sealed the match with victories of 30-16 and 30-20, respectively.
Senior middle blocker Rebecca Tenney (/Tabb) (Yorktown, VA/Tabb) finished with nine kills (.280 attack percentage). Junior middle blocker Lauren Boothby (/Voorhees) (Glen Gardner, NJ/Voorhees) notched 14 digs and seven kills.
Mountain Hawks' (4-15) senior middle blocker Shannon Spafford (Northvale, NJ/Northern Valley Regional Psychology) collected a double-double of 15 kills and 12 digs.
Fairleigh Dickinson travels to New Britain, CT to play Central Connecticut State University at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20.
