The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team lost to Delaware State University, 3-1, Saturday, Sept. 30 in the final game of the University of Maryland ? Eastern Shore Comfort Inn Classic. The Knights (10-6) finished the weekend, 2-2, as Ruth Levy (/Cary) (Cary, NC) posted three double-doubles, including a 29-assist, 13-dig performance in the tourney's finale.

FDU lost the opening match, 30-27, but responded with a 30-23 win. The Hornets (1-14) sealed the victory with wins by scores of 30-23 and 30-28.

Sophomore middle blocker Lauren Boothby (/Voorhees) (Glen Gardner, NJ) registered a team-high 16 kills. Junior middle blocker Rebecca Tenney (/Tabb) (Yorktown, VA) contributed 13 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Megan Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) (Seabrook, MD) added 10 kills. Tenney was named to the Comfort Inn Classic All-Tournament team.

Junior libero Lauren Lombardo (/Laurel) (New Castle, PA) recorded a team-best 27 digs and freshman outside hitter Ali Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton) (Latham, MD), chipped in 17 digs.

The Knights return home to face Manhattan at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4 at the Rothman Center in Hackensack, NJ.
