Fairleigh Dickinson Men's Soccer Plays Creighton to Scoreless Tie
Three Knights Earn All-Tournament Honors
Omaha, NE ? The Fairleigh Dickinson Men's Soccer team played the No. 8 ranked Creighton Bluejays (1-2-1) to a scoreless tie in the final round of the Ameritas Classic hosted by Creighton. Senior Donny Mayard (/Leblanc) (Laval, Canada) and sophomores Alejandro Bedoya (Weston, FL/ASES Group) (Weston, Fl) and Rico Geromel (Sao Paolo, Brazil) were the Knights selected to the All-Tournament Team.
Senior Elvir Prasovic (Astoria, NY/Newcomers) (Astoria, NY) logged all 110 minutes between the pipes for the Knights and recorded 7 saves while is counterpart Matt Allen recorded two saves. Creighton out shot Fairleigh Dickinson 24-6.
“I'm proud of the effort we put into tonight and the way we competed against a very good Creighton team in front of a big crowd on their home field," said Head Coach Seth Roland. "It's the best environment in college soccer and we were excited to have been a part of that. To come away with a draw under those circumstances, against a great Creighton team, is not a terrible thing."
Fairleigh Dickinson (2-1-1) returns to action on Saturday, September 9th as the Knights host Hofstra at University Stadium at 1:00 p.m.
