The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team dominated Quinnipiac University, 3-0, Saturday, Sept. 23 in Philadelphia, PA in the team's opening match of the University of Pennsylvania Tournament. After a nine-day lay-off, the Knights (8-2) rattled off wins of 30-17, 30-21 and 30-19, led by sophomore setter Karolina Kowalski (/North Arlington)'s (North Arlington, NJ) 17 assists and 10 digs.
Junior outside hitter Elena Schmidt (/Nevada Union) (Nevada City, CA) and sophomore middle blocker Lauren Boothby (/Voorhees) (Glen Gardner, NJ) each posted 11 kills. Junior middle blocker Rebecca Tenney (/Tabb) (Yorktown, VA) notched a .500 hitting percentage.
Junior setter Ruth Levy (/Cary) (Cary, NC) chipped in 17 assists and three service aces.
FDU's win ? though counted as a non-Northeast Conference match-up ? marked the squad's third-straight victory.
The Knights face Binghamton at 10 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 24 and take on the host Quakers at 5:30 p.m.
