The Fairleigh Dickinson University men's soccer team (0-1-0) dropped its' season opener on Saturday evening, 1-0, to Lehigh in Bethlehem, PA.
The Mountain Hawks took advantage of an opportunity in the 52nd minute as senior John O'Reilly landed a free kick at the top of the box and sophomore transfer Jim Taranto collected the loose ball and scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal.
"I don't think it was our best effort," said Head Coach Seth Roland. "After the first 25 or 30 minutes, we seemed to have lost our rhythm and weren't able to find it the rest of the game."
"We'll look forward to hopefully playing better on Monday against Stony Brook," said Roland.
Senior Tomer Chencinksi played all 90 minutes between the posts for the Knights, making three saves. The Knights were out-shot 21-5.
The Knights open their home season on Monday against Stony Brook at 5:00 p.m. in Teaneck, NJ.
