The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team lost to visiting LaSalle University, 3-1, Wednesday, Oct. 18 at the Rothman Center in Hackensack, NJ. Junior setter Ruth Levy (/Cary) (Cary, NC/Cary) notched a double-double of 21 assists and 12 digs, while sophomore counterpart Karolina Kowalski (/North Arlington) (North Arlington, NJ/North Arlington) added 17 assists and 13 digs.
FDU (13-9, 1-1 NEC) recorded a .136 team hitting percentage in game one, en route to a 30-26 win. However, the Explorers (8-19, 0-8 A-10) claimed the final three games, 30-27, 30-24, and 30-23, to grab the victory.
Sophomore middle hitter Lauren Boothby (/Voorhees) (Glen Gardner, NJ/Voorhees) tallied a game-high 17 kills and junior libero Lauren Lombardo (/Laurel) (New Castle, PA/Laurel) collected a team-best 20 digs.
Junior outside hitter Rebecca Tenney (/Tabb) (Yorktown, VA/Tabb) posted 10 kills and five block assists, with senior outside hitter Kayla McLeod (/Watertown District) (Waterdown, Ontario/Waterdown) chipping in 10 kills.
Four Explorers racked up double-digits in kills, as middle hitter Christa Dominick (White Lake, MI/Lakeland) paced the squad with a .333 hitting percentage, compiling 10 kills. Setter Caitlin Conner (Willow Springs, IL/Lyons Township) netted a game-high 46 assists, while three other LaSalle players slammed 12 kills each.
The Knights host Quinnipiac at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 21.
