Women's Volleyball Falls to Providence in Three Games

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team (7-11) fell to Providence (2-15), 3-0, Wednesday evening at PC's Mullaney Gymnasium inside Alumni Hall. PC earned its second victory of the year with game scores of 30-18, 30-19 and 30-24.

Megan Philbrick (/Elizabeth Seton)'s nine kills led the Knights. Elena Schmidt and Rebecca Tenney each contributed five kills. Ruth Levy had 12 assists and three service aces, while Lauren Lombardo notched 22 digs.

The Friars were led by senior captain Allison Baker who totaled a match-high 16 kills along with 11 digs to notch her fifth double-double of the season. Baker also posted a match-high hitting percentage of .295, and recorded PC's highest three-game kill total of the season with 16 kills. With the win, Providence snapped a four-match losing streak against the Knights, dating back to last season.

The Knights are back in action at La Salle on Oct. 5 at 7:00 p.m.
