The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team fell to host St. Francis PA in four games on Saturday afternoon in Loretto, PA. The Red Flash won the first game, 30-20, and although the Knights came back to take the second game, 30-23, St. Francis PA won the third and fourth games (30-27, 30-25) to close out the match.
The Knights (10-19, 0-4 NEC) were led by Elena Schmidt (/Nevada Union)'s 14 kills, while Megan Philbrick contributed nine. Ruth Levy gave out 33 assists and posted three aces. Five Knights posted double-digit digs, with Lauren Lombardo (/Laurel)'s 18 leading the group. Levy had 17, Karolina Kowalski notched 16 and Jennifer Bruegger added 12. Rebecca Tenney led the defense, recording seven blocks.
The Red Flash (5-19, 2-2 NEC) had three players in double-digit kills, led by Kristin Buter's 18. Anne Roosevelt contributed 12 kills and Jamie Papini had 10. Missi Vaughn recorded 52 assists and Lauren Parisi had a match-high four aces. Bruna Fonseca had 19 digs and Buter added 17.
The Knights are back in action at Robert Morris on October 30 at 1:00 p.m.
