The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team fell at Quinnipiac University in four games in its' first conference match of the season on Saturday afternoon in Hamden, CT. The Knights fall to 10-14 overall and 0-1 in the Northeast Conference, while the Bobcats improve to 3-14, with a 1-2 mark in league action.
FDU jumped out to an early 1-0 edge, winning the first game 30-27, but the Bobcats came back to take the next three, 30-20, 30-28 and 30-22.
Elena Schmidt led the Knights with 20-kill game. Lauren Boothby notched 12 kills and Megan Philbrick added 11. Boothby led the Knights with a .647 attack percentage, making only one error in 17 attempts.
Ruth Levy recorded 43 set assists and Lauren Lombardo had 10 digs. Karolina Kowalski had a team-high three solo blocks and added nine digs.
Kalyn Hundley led Quinnipiac with a match-high 22 kills. Ashley Phillips had 45 assists and Danielle Erickson led the Bobcats with 13 digs. Hundley and Stephanie Conde each had five blocks.
The Knights are back in action at Central Connecticut State on Oct. 16 at 1:00 p.m. The game can be followed through gametracker.
