For the second time this season, Fairleigh Dickinson freshman sprinter Jasper Savoy has been named Northeast Conference Track and Field Rookie of the Week, announced Tuesday, Feb. 5 by the NEC office.
With the NEC Indoor Championships on the horizon, the Lusby, Md. native produced the best automatic-timed 60m performance of his young career in 6.91 seconds at the New Balance Invitational this past weekend. Beating out competitors from Kansas, Syracuse and Rutgers, the first-year Knight won his heat while moving up into fourth place on the NEC performance list in the process.
It is the second time that he has beaten the IC4A Championships qualifying standards and is one of just eight NEC runners to qualify.
