Freshman soccer player Anders Vest-Hansen was named adidas/NEC Rookie of the Week, announced the conference on Monday.
Earning his second rookie of the week honor of the season, Vest-Hansen anchored the Knights’ midfield in a 1-0 shutout of Saint Francis (PA) before showing off his offensive tactics in a come-from-behind win over Robert Morris. The Nykobing, Denmark product setup teammate Nicholas Walker in the 60th minute to tie the game at one after playing from behind for nearly 57 minutes. He then put his team in front for good when he tickled the twine from about 30 yards out in the 65th minute. It was his first goal of his career and it sealed the first-place Knights’ sixth win of the season and second in NEC play.
