FDU Knights Athletics

Alexa Tirelli of the Fairleigh Dickinson University women’s soccer team has been named the adidas/Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending October 2. 

Tirelli records her first adidas/NEC Player of the Week honor after posting her first collegiate points as the Knights went 1-1 in conference play weekend.  During FDU’s 4-2 setback against Quinnipiac, Tirelli notched her first career goal.  In the 74^th minute of play, the freshman from Slate Hill, NY scored off of a cross from the far right corner.

The Knights rebounded with a 2-0 triumph over CCSU on Sunday as Tirelli assisted on Rashidah Sherman’s insurance goal in the 85^th minute.

The New York product made a through-ball pass to her teammate at midfield, enabling Sherman’s breakaway.

Tirelli currently leads the freshman in points (3) and represents just one of two rookie Knights with goals.
