Freshman Ksenija Tihomirova, playing in only her second collegiate tournament, won the "A" Flight singles title after going a perfect 4-0 over the weekend. She won her only match on Friday over Darien Sears of Navy, 4-6, 7-6 (7), 10-5. Saturday morning, Tihomirova took care of business in the quarterfinals with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Towson's Ayana Dow. Later in the day she won in three sets over Tiffany Tran of Air Force, 3-6, 6-4, 10-6, to advance to Sunday's championship match, where she was a 6-2, 6-3 winner over Belen Lizana of Towson.
In doubles play Tihomirova and sophomore Nicole Chis, who were playing in "A" Flight doubles, had no problems in an 8-2 victory over Ashley Sandler and Gabriel of Monmouth. But in the quarterfinals the duo was defeated by Air Force's Tran and Rudico, 8-6. Also in the "A" Flight, Krachok and Castany won their first match, an 8-3 victory over George Mason's Marijke Boers and Morgan Yang, but also fell in the quarterfinals, as they were bounced out by Natasha Rizvi and Magday of Air Force, 8-4.
