HACKENSACK, N.J. – On this week's edition of The Greg Herenda Show,  Coach Herenda hosts his former assistant coach and newly named head men's basketball coach at Rhode Island College, Tom Glynn.

Glynn, who worked under Herenda at UMass Lowell for two seasons, is one of the many members of Herenda's coaching tree to enjoy success at multiple levels.

Tune in this Saturday, June 23 at 12 p.m. on WFDU 89.1 FM, www.wfdu.fm and iHeartRadio.

About Tom Glynn:
Glynn was named head men's basketball coach of Rhode Island College on Wednesday after spending the last four seasons at Nichols College.

Under Glynn's watch, Nichols registered four-straight 20-win seasons and combined for a 94-20 (.825) record.

The Bison tied the program-record for wins with 25 in 2017-18 and won their second CCC Championship in a row. Glynn was named Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) Coach of the Year in both 2016 and 2017.

Prior to arriving at to Nichols, Glynn spent the previous two seasons as the Associate Head Coach at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he helped the Engineers to back-to-back 20-win seasons and a pair of NCAA Tournament berths. The Engineers were ranked No. 1 in the nation for five consecutive weeks during the 2012-13 campaign and boasted the stingiest defense in the nation, holding opponents to just 54.9 ppg. They went on to capture both the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season and tournament championship.

Glynn spent two seasons (2010-12) as an assistant coach under Herenda at UMass Lowell, who at the time was a member of one of the Division II Northeast-10 conference. The River Hawks appeared in the national rankings and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in both seasons with Glynn on the staff.

A 2006 graduate of Springfield College with a bachelor's of science degree in physical education, Glynn received his master's degree in secondary physical education from Salem State in 2010.

The Waltham, Mass. resident is an active summer camp clinician and lecturer for Hoop Mountain, Hoop Group, Five-Star, Harvard University, Dartmouth College, Columbia University, Yale University, Brown University, Bentley University, Providence College, Boston College, and the Boston Celtics.
