HACKENSACK, N.J. – Fairleigh Dickinson Director of Athletics David Langford has announced a contract extension for head women's basketball coach Peter Cinella.
The 2016-17 season will be Cinella's 10th at the helm of the FDU women's basketball program. He has 95 wins with the Knights and a career record of 386-305 (.559) as an intercollegiate head coach.
"I am excited to be continue working at Fairleigh Dickinson University and with our outstanding student-athletes. We have a lot of exciting players returning and our entire staff is excited for the future," said Cinella.
"I am excited to have Coach Cinella continue his leadership of our women's basketball program and I look forward to seeing the team build off two consecutive playoff appearances," Langford said when announcing the extension.
Cinella has led the Knights to six appearances in the Northeast Conference Tournament in his tenure — including trips in each of the last two seasons. Over his nine previous seasons, Cinella has coached 10 different players to earn All-NEC honors.
