Coach Jake Lieberman joined the FDU baseball staff last year after building a strong coaching resume at the Division III and JUCO levels.
Prior to FDU, Lieberman served as an assistant coach at John Jay College, where he helped transform the offense as the Bloodhounds’ improved in multiple statistical categories such as runs per game, batting average, OPS, home runs, RBIs and hits. He also helped lead John Jay to its first CUNYAC championship in 17 years.
Lieberman then joined Lackawanna College as an assistant coach and hitting coach. During his time with the Falcons, the team won 40 games, ranked among the top 10 JUCO offenses in the country, and advanced to the NJCAA Division II JUCO World Series.
In his first season at FDU, Lieberman was responsible for the Knights’ catchers while assisting with the offense. The Knights set 10 offensive records in 2026 and broke the program’s single season wins record.
As a player, Lieberman was a four year athlete at Southern Connecticut State University, playing for Head Coach Tim Shea. During his junior & senior season he led the team overall in batting average and hits. He was also voted team captain for his senior season.Â
