Allison Brown arrives at Fairleigh Dickinson after playing collegiately for University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. She was named a 2014 Daktronics NCAA Division II 3rd Team All-American as a senior. She also earned Second Team All-Northern Sun honors in 2013 and 2014.
In addition, Brown was Daktronics Second Team All-Region in 2013, First Team All-Region in 2014, and 2013 and 2014 NSIC All-Academic Team. During her career, Brown was named NSIC Player of the Week four times. She was invited by the Chicago Bandits of National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) to participate in their 2014 tryouts.
Brown split time between first base and outfield. As the leadoff batter her senior year, she led the team with a .400 batting average, .459 on-base percentage, and .714 slugging percentage. Brown also led the team with 17 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs, 45 RBIs, and 47 runs scored. She was second on the team in steals with 32. In 2014, Brown set single season University of Mary -- NCAA era -- marks in slugging, total bases, and runs scored. She was second in doubles, triples, and stolen bases, and in the top five in batting average, on base percentage, hits, home runs, and RBIs.
"It is a great honor and privilege to be working at Fairleigh Dickinson University, and I am very grateful for the opportunity the Knights are giving me to live my dream and be a collegiate coach while working towards my masters," Brown said. "I look forward to helping and maintaining a successful program with Coach Kelley that will compete not only in the NEC, but on the national level."
A four-year starter for the Marauders, including team captain in 2013 and 2014, Brown completed her career ranked first at University of Mary—NCAA era—in home runs (37), runs scored (157), triples (8), slugging percentage (.651), and on base percentage (.430). She is also second in hits (335), doubles (45), RBIs (159), and total bases, and third in hitting (.369) and stolen bases.
This past year, Brown served as the assistant coach during the fall semester at Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS. Prior to that, she was the junior varsity head softball coach at Fallbrook Union High School in Fallbrook, Calif. She began her coaching experience as a co-trainer at Sports Training Complex in Portland, Oregon.
Brown graduated in the summer of 2014 from University of Mary with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a minor in public relations.
