Assistant Coach, Fairleigh Dickinson University (2018-Present) - 2nd season

Fairleigh Dickinson tennis head coach Jeff Brandes announced the hiring of Paul Caceres in September 2018.

In the 2019-2020 campaign, Caceres helped coach Youssef Sader, Teodors Pukse, and Maciej Autuch to earn monthly NEC Honors. The Knights men's team posted a 6-5 record in the spring, including conference wins over St. Francis Brooklyn and Merrimack. Pukse posted a team-best 17 singles victories and the doubles team of Eduardo Cabral and Mehdi Dhouib posted 10 wins.

On the women's side in 2019-2020, freshman Alena Kubanova earned three NEC Rookie of the Month's and one NEC Player of the Month. Sophomore Aleksandra Vorozheikina also garnered an NEC Player of the Month. The women also posted a 5-4 record and ended the season on a three-game winning-streak.

“I am very excited for Paul to come to FDU,” said tennis head coach Jeff Brandes on Paul’s hiring. “His work ethic, passion and enthusiasm for tennis and coaching will make him a great asset to our program.” 
 
Caceres played an illustrious career at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, and he was inducted into the school’s athletic hall of fame in 2018 for his accomplishments.
 
In his first year competing, Caceres went undefeated in singles, and in the following year (2006-07), he helped his team earn the best single-season record ever by the men’s tennis program. Caceres finished the 2007-08 season with the best singles and doubles records on the team, and he was a team captain for the 2008-09 campaign as a senior.
 
Caceres was voted Central Athletic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week in April 2009. That spring, he was undefeated in singles and doubles in dual matches and helped his team clinch a spot in the CACC conference playoffs, guiding the team to the conference finals. Caceres was a semi-finalist in the CACC individual tournament for both singles and doubles that year and earned all-conference honors on the inaugural All-CACC men’s tennis team.
 
The NCAA ranked the 2009 USciences men’s team in the top 10 in the DII East region. Caceres helped his team earn an at-large berth to the NCAA Division II Men’s Tennis Championship, the first NCAA tennis tournament appearance in school history.
 
During his senior year in 2009, Caceres set the school’s men’s tennis record for most career wins (singles and doubles) with a total of 83 victories. That same year, he received the school’s Senior Athlete of the Year Award. His name appears a total of 13 times in the USciences men’s tennis record book.
 
In addition to graduating with a PharmD degree from USciences in 2012, Caceres also received a minor in sociology. During his academic career, Caceres was a Merit Scholarship recipient, made the Dean’s List four semesters and received the USciences Community Engagement Award in 2011.
 
After graduating, Caceres went on to complete a residency in Arizona, and he recently became board certified in geriatric pharmacy.
 
Caceres is an active member of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and continues to play competitive tennis year-round. He stays active off the court as well, having volunteered at numerous organizations including the Philadelphia Medical Reserve Corps, Center for Food Action and Project HEARTH (Helping Elderly Adults Remain in Their Homes).
