McMinn received his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology-Athletic Training from Pennsylvania State University in August 2004, after which he accepted a position as a Staff Strength and Conditioning Coach in the Penn State Strength & Conditioning Department.
Kyle came to Fairleigh Dickinson University-Metropolitan Campus in July 2009 upon receiving a Master's Degree in Advance Athletic Training from LIU Brooklyn.Â
In his six-year stint at Penn State, Kyle served in an Athletic Training role as well as a Strength and Conditioning role for 25 of 27 NCAA Division I athletic teams both as an undergraduate Athletic Training Student/Volunteer Strength and Conditioning Coach and as an eventual Staff Strength and Conditioning Coach.
In June 2005, Kyle moved to New York City, obtaining a position in the Private Training field at one of the top private gyms in Manhattan to diversify his Athletic Training and Strength and Conditioning experience. While at The Sports Club/LA New York on the Upper East Side, Kyle worked with both professional and collegiate athletes, though the focus of his efforts was the general population.
In 2007, Kyle accepted a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer position at Long Island University-Brooklyn campus, studying Advanced Athletic Training.
Kyle's focus throughout his experiences has been to approach the Strength and Conditioning field through the Athletic Training field, and visa-versa, in an effort to assure the proper coordination of both fields to achieve each athletes' maximum athletic potential.
Kyle is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the NATABOC, a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA, and a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach as well as an Approved Practicum/Internship Mentor through the CSCCa. Kyle is also a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the National Athletic Trainers' Association, and the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association.
Kyle resides in Garfield, N.J. with his wife, Althea.
