HACKENSACK, N.J. – Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer head coach Seth Roland has announced the addition of David Janezic as the program's new assistant coach.  Janezic brings more than 20 years of club, collegiate and professional coaching and playing experience to his new position with the Knights.

Janezic officially began his duties on February 1, 2016.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Dave as our new full-time assistant coach," FDU men's head coach Seth Roland stated on Wednesday morning. "Everyone I spoke with raves about his positive energy and work-ethic on the field, on the recruiting trail, and in the office.  I'm looking forward to working with him and am confident that he will bring a fresh perspective and enthusiasm to our program."

Janezic replaces former full-time assistant coach, Orce Kozeski, who is an FDU alumnus and former FDU soccer player.

"For over 17 years, Orce was an outstanding role model as a student-athlete and coach.  He was an integral part of our success since 2000, having played on three NCAA tournament teams including our Elite 8 team in 2001, and having coached three other NCAA tournament teams including our 2012 Sweet 16 group."  Roland added, "His contributions to FDU Men's Soccer have been profound, and we will surely miss him."

Most recently, Janezic served three seasons as an assistant coach for the NJIT Highlanders in Newark, New Jersey.   During his time at NJIT, the Highlanders reached new heights when they were ranked for seven weeks in a row by the NSCAA Southeast Region.   The Highlanders also were garnered with the Sun Belt Conference offensive and Defensive "Player of the Year" awards during the 2014-15 Season.  The Highlanders' RPI peaked at 105 during his tenure.

The program also had success in the classroom with a team GPA of 3.3 through-out his time in Newark.

A Garden State native, Janezic played soccer for Raritan High School and Monmouth University before seeing action with a pair of professional clubs.

Prior to NJIT, Janezic was the head coach at Brookdale Community College for the 2012 season leading the Jersey Blues men's soccer team to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament.  Brookdale finished with an 18-4-1 record and claimed the National Junior College Athletic Association Region XIX and Garden State Athletic Conference Championships with a 10-1-1 record in both the conference and region.  He was named coach of the year for both Region XIX and the GSAC as his team finished the season ranked 9th in the final national poll.

At the same time, Janezic was also coaching the USSDA U15/16 Academy and the NJSA04-United States Development Academy.

He served as the Director of Coaching for the Hazlet Soccer Association from 2002 to 2009 before returning to collegiate coaching as an assistant at Caldwell College.  His collegiate coaching career began in 1997 as an assistant at his alma mater, Monmouth (1997-2001).

Janezic played for Monmouth from 1992-96 where he was Captain and Team MVP, and after graduation saw professional action with the Philadelphia Kixx (Indoor) and the Central Jersey Riptide (Outdoors).

David and his wife Maryann, reside in Ocean, NJ with daughter Macy Quinn and son's Landon Robert and Hudson Christopher.
