MSOC Vs. Cancer

"I FIGHT FOR" VIDEO               "WE ARE UKNIGHTED" VIDEO

Join the Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team this week in the fight vs. cancer. The Knights have partnered with Vs. Cancer to help make a difference in the lives of kids with cancer.

More children die of cancer than any other disease. And of those cancers, brain tumors are the deadliest. The Knights have teamed up with Vs. Cancer, a signature fundraising campaign of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, to give these children a healthier and happier future.

You can help by donating to our team. Throughout the season, the team is raising awareness and funds for local kids with cancer, and they will celebrate their efforts on October 18 during their home game against LIU. Proceeds from your donation will fund child life programs at a local hospital and help find a cure for pediatric brain tumors.

Started by pediatric brain cancer survivor and former collegiate baseball player Chase Jones, Vs. Cancer empowers any sports team, any athlete, and any community to help kids with cancer. As a signature fundraising campaign of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, Vs. Cancer proceeds help fund child life programs in local hospitals and groundbreaking research to cure pediatric brain tumors, the deadliest childhood cancer. Fairleigh Dickinson has selected Hackensack Children’s Hospital to be their benefiting hospital.

"Cancer is an insidious disease that profoundly impacts people's lives," said FDU men's soccer head coach Seth Roland. "I fight on behalf of Marjorie Roland, my first wife who was diagnosed with brain cancer when she was eight months pregnant with our younger daughter. She died three years later when Laura and Hannah were three and five years old. Join me in making a donation to this very worthy cause."

Kimberly Roy-Canning, director of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s northeast region, understands how vital these athletes are to the nonprofit’s mission. “We applaud the efforts and generous spirit of Fairleigh Dickinson Men’s Soccer! Vs. Cancer wasn't just built by athletes for athletes. We were started by a pediatric brain cancer survivor, and we see every day how important family support and research are for children to thrive. With the support of this incredible team, we’re fighting for healthier, happier futures for these kids!”
