2011-12: First Team All-Northeast Conference for No. 2 singles and Second Team All-NEC for No. 1 doubles with partner Arvis Berzins... Second-most singles victories on the team with 17... Had an undefeated 6-0 record against NEC players this season... Went 14-5 in No. 2 singles matches... Shams/Berzins combined to go 14-4 as a doubles pairing... NEC Player of the Month in February... NEC Player of the Week (3/20/12)...

2010-11: Put together an overall singles record of 7-17… Played a majority of the season as the Knights’ No. 1 singles player… Paired with Peter Skvarka for an 8-5 doubles record… Played most of the season with Dominic Hemy as the Knights’ No. 1 doubles pair, earning a 4-5 record… Named NEC Player of Week on 10/5/10…
 
2009-10: Played No. 2 and 3 singles and finished with a 2-4 overall record… Won four of seven doubles matches on the season… At No. 2 doubles, went 4-2 while playing with Sven Sjoerds…

American University in Cairo: Attended in spring and fall of 2009 but did not compete in tennis…

Manor House School: Played tennis for Gezira Club and helped the team win two Egyptian League titles…

Personal: Born Sept. 28, 1991 in Cairo, Egypt… Son of Ashraf Shams and Nadia El Salamony…  Has an older sister Rana, who attended German University in Cairo, and a younger sister, Reem who studies at Dar Al Tarbiah School… Majoring in Management.
