A New Era: A Note From FDU Knights Athletic Director, Jason Young

7/1/2026 1:12:00 PM

To the FDU Community:

The temperature is rising and summer has arrived! I hope you all are enjoying. I'm sure there are family vacations, camps, and time at the pool in the days ahead.

For myself, I am eager to welcome back our more than 400-plus student-athletes for the 2026-2027 school year. It is my first year as the newly appointed Director of Athletics and enter my 8th year at FDU. I am incredibly thankful for this community's ongoing support. I look forward to us sharing many more moments of excitement at our events, cheering on our victories, and being inspired as our student-athletes continue to reach new heights. The FDU Knights community extends far and wide, and we look forward to you sharing your Burgundy and & Blue spirit!

There are three simple ways you can keep in touch and support the FDU Knights:
  • Follow our social media for updates on alumni events, game schedules, and Knights activities.
  • Cheer on our talented student-athletes at our upcoming events. We'd love to see you there!
  • Grab some new gear and show your school spirit by wearing your Burgundy & Blue with pride.

During my press conference, I emphasized that we are in a season of innovation and growth. To achieve the success we all desire and compete at the highest level, we must invest in new facilities and continue to enhance the holistic student-athlete experience. This vision requires new partnerships, and we will be collaborating extensively with stakeholders to uplift not only our student-athletes, but the entire Bergen County community.

I am confident that we can accomplish this together, but I'd also love to tap into your expertise and network. If there are any organizations you think we should be connecting with, please introduce us. A simple email is perfect, and we can take it from there.

Our teams continue to excel both on and off the field. This year, our Women's Basketball team captivated us with a historic conference winning streak, while our Baseball team delivered a record-breaking offensive season, resulting in the program's first-ever All-American. Witnessing the dedication of these student-athletes is truly inspiring, and we are profoundly grateful for your continued support as they pursue their journeys as FDU Knights!

I am truly grateful for your support as I settle into this role. I'm looking forward exploring how we can continue to build and innovate for our student-athletes and the broader community.

Thank you again, and have a safe and Happy 4th of July!

Jason Young
