Box Score Binghamton, N.Y. – FDU men's tennis continued their winning ways, defeating Binghamton on Sunday, 4-3.
At second doubles, Binghamton struck first with a 6-2 win over, Joshua Oboniye and Andrew Nicolae, but FDU responded as Thomas Linley and Gryffin Minor pulled off a 6-4 victory. The deciding match came down to Taurus Mickus and Gareth Ong, who delivered a 6-3 win to clinch the doubles point for FDU.
Singles action featured several tightly contested battles. William Morais Binnie secured a dramatic win for Binghamton at No. 1 singles, edging out Joshua Oboniye in a three-set thriller, 7-6 (5), 3-6, 7-5. Ronin Lotlikar added another point for Binghamton with a straight-set win at No. 2 over Gryffin Minor.
FDU, however, found success in the middle of the lineup. Thomas Linley (No. 3) and Taurus Mickus (No. 4) picked up key victories, while Asaf Schwartz completed an impressive comeback at No. 5, rallying from a first-set loss to win in a third-set tiebreaker, 1-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4).
Binghamton closed out the match with a win at No. 6, where Andre Ajed defeated Jorge Alonso-Cortes in another three-set battle, 7-6 (2), 5-7, 6-3.
